Herein is a case study of the Total Brand Collapse of an attorney, law firm as a result of a protracted siege perpetrated upon the entitie(s) by a former aggrieved client and the disposition of the matter.
Background: Albert B. Pepper Jr. now d/b/a Phoenix Rising Productions LLC was a former client of Anthony R. Friedman, Missouri Bar Number 65531 while Friedman was acting as lead counsel in a medical malpractice complaint at his former employer The Simon Law Firm P.C. in St. Louis, Missouri. (case #19SL-CC04680)
The conflict began when after 3.5 years of litigation Friedman scheduled a mediated settlement agreement conference to resolve the claim on June 26, 2023 just four days before Friedman was to leave The Simon Law Firm P.C. for "performance issues". (Former colleagues of Friedman yet with the firm advised Pepper that quote: "He lost seven out of eight cases he took to trial and that is why he is no longer with the firm" ~ Elizabeth S. Lenivy.
However, here in is the controversy that initiated Pepper's transition from aggrieved client into an aggressive consumer advocate.
1) In the midst of the mediated settlement agreement conference Friedman committed a multitude of acts of professional misconduct not the least of was Friedman shared privileged information contained in an email sent from Pepper to Friedman with opposing counsel that contained Pepper's case theory, valuation metrics, mock cross examination dialogue and work product. The result is that Friedman effectively gave opposing counsel Pepper's entire "play book" and four days thereafter on June 30, 2023 withdrew representation and left The Simon Law Firm P.C.
2) Several months had passed and Pepper discovered that on December 27, 2023 Friedman registered with the Missouri Secretary of State articles of incorporation for the Friedman Law Firm LLC offering legal services for consideration within the plaintiff side personal injury domain of tort law and civil procedure.
Through investigation Pepper realized that the same acts of professional misconduct were being perpetrated by Friedman upon the general public and primarily upon unsophisticated clients who may be practicing due diligence when seeking legal counsel.
This was an injustice and consumer hazard that Pepper could not allow to be perpetuated. Therefore, Pepper filed complaint(s) with the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court of Missouri which was successful in having an investigation opened into the allegations on February 17, 2026. However, Pepper being aware that the O.C.D.C. investigation is a protracted process as a result of the requisite due process Pepper realized that over the course of time Friedman was still seeking clients who may be harmed and or suffer injury by the chronic business and professional misconduct of Friedman. Therefore, Pepper began an aggressive digital, social media campaign to advise and and all interested parties to be aware of the controversy and practice heightened due diligence when considering Friedman as legal counsel.
As a result of Pepper's consumer advocacy and citizen journalism work the social media landscape became replete with the factual allegations and expose into the business and professional conduct , misconduct of Friedman and the Friedman Law Firm LLC brand had become virtually worthless and a pariah among plaintiff side personal injury bar in St. Louis and St. Charles County.
Conclusion: In the latter part of August 2026 Friedman began to aggressively de-platform his public facing social media presence and declared that the Friedman Law Firm LLC was "permanently closed".
